Monday Motivations- Pain or Injury?

I have been keeping up with my running these last few months as I am in training for a 10k I'd like to do in November (more on that when its official).  But I have been struggling physically for the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure what is happening! I was totally in gear, but my hip mysteriously gave out and I'm in pain...and I am totally bummed.

from Marathon Sweetheart.com
So I had been fighting and ignoring the shooting pains in my legs as I was trying to keep up with my training schedule because like the motivation says above I wasn't going to let this pain do me in or stop me from being who I can be.  BUT I figured out that I'm actually injuring myself more everyday, and I have to be smart enough to know its more than just my head. So I have no choice at the moment, but to stop and take care of this before I do any permanent damage, and in the short future, cut my chances of doing this 10k.

THAT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!

So I in the meantime, I am trying to keep positive, go to the doctors, rest, and do what I need to do to get better. My body wants to get back to running and pushing through the feeling of not being able to go further...because I know I can.

Any suggestions from any of you fitness friends of mine out there would be totally appreciated!

From my corner to yours...stay healthy and have a wonderful week!

I will always remember this day...

9/11/2001

I will always remember...

Waking up to hearing a radio dj say that a "helicopter" had crashed into the towers
immediately sitting up in bed, my body going cold because I knew something wasn't right
turning on the TV and having my feelings confirmed with horrible images
calling out to Jerry to turn the tv on

I will always remember...

being completely confused as to why this was happening
watching footage of the second plane hit
sitting in bed screaming as I saw the first tower go down
crying as I thought of all those people in that building
more attacks??!!
it all being way too much to understand but not being able to take my eyes off the tv
watching the second tower go down...and crying harder
being scared about Los Angeles being attacked next
wondering if this was going to be WW3 on our land

I will always remember...

Not sending the Christian and Danny to daycare that day
I remember sitting on the sofa, watching tv, holding them close to me as often as I could
being relieved that they were too young to understand all of this
being perplexed as to how this day would change their history books forever
Being completely rattled and lethargic all day
Praying for all those people affected, yet being grateful that we were all ok
deciding that day that I would NOT be taking a future business trip I was supposed to go on

I will always remember...

the declaration of war against the terrorist
seeing the images of the Statue of Liberty and the smoke surrounding her
seeing images of people running into the chaos to help
seeing images of people looking for their loved ones

But I will also remember...

Our nation coming together as one
People from everywhere showing up to help at ground zero
hearing the stories of those people that by God's grace never made it to work that day
the beautiful images that showed the strength of our country

My heart still aches at soo many memories, but I will never forget that day.

May we always remember!

From my corner to you... Have yourself a beautiful day!

Wordless Wednesday- Photobooth fun!

This past weekend was our niece, Natalia's wedding in Long Beach. It was beautiful and we had a great time dancing as it was a bi-cultural wedding that included spanish and bollywood music to dance to. We enjoyed all of it!

They also had one of the neatest things I've seen done at wedding...they had a photo booth for all the guests to take pictures in! Then they had a scrapbook table where you could take one of the 2 copies of your picture strip and make a scrapbook page for the bride and groom to keep as a sign in book, and we got to keep the other strip for ourselves.  Super cute!!!

So Jerry and I actually had some fun and we took all kinds of pictures together with all different themed hats, glasses and accessories. What a great idea!!

This was our favorite pic!

Too much fun!!

Not so wordless afterall, but from my corner to yours...

Happy Wednesday anyway!
